Multi-Axis Drawer Test Fixture

Final Functional Testing for Ruggedized and Enclosed Assemblies

Description

Engineered for final functional testing (FCT) and end-of-line (EOL) validation, this test fixture delivers high-precision testing for heavy-duty, semi-enclosed electronic assemblies. Its ergonomic drawer architecture isolates operators from high mating forces while ensuring reliable, repeatable test cycles.

Intuitive Operator Workflow & Actuation Sequence:

  1. Load: Place the semi-enclosed housing into the custom ESD-safe fixation block.
  1. Lock: Glide the drawer into the test position
  1. Horizontal Mate: Actuate the side handle to drive linear slides and connect RJ45/SFP ports.
  1. Vertical Engage: Lower the top handle to compress POGO probes and internal headers onto PCB test points.

Key Technical Highlights:

  • Multi-Axis: Combines horizontal data interface mating (RJ45, SFP) and vertical probe engagement (POGO pins, USB headers) in simple stroke sequence.
  • Connector Protection: Guided linear slides guarantee straight-line axial engagement, eliminating pin deformation and port wear caused by manual cable plugging.
  • Precision ESD fixation: CNC-machined parts accommodate draft angles, sheet metal shielding, and casting tolerance variations for secure DUT fixation.

Applications:

Ideal for ruggedized high-speed networking devices and electronics requiring final validation prior to shipment.
