Description
Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) Shaker System is a mechanical test platform designed to evaluate the durability and structural integrity of electronics exposed to severe real-world abuse. Rather than waiting months or years to observe field failures, this machine uses high-performance motorised actuation to compress a product’s entire operational lifespan into a fraction of the time. By inducing rapid, high-frequency kinetic energy, it effectively replicates the destructive forces of repeated micro-drops, tossing, and harsh vibrational impacts.
This system features a heavy-duty, spring-isolated platter capped with a secure containment enclosure. As the internal motors generate aggressive, multi-axis harmonic vibrations, the device under test undergoes continuous impact cycles. This allows quality assurance and design teams to rapidly expose weak solder joints, fragile component mounts, internal wire fatigue, or housing cracks before a product ever reaches mass distribution.
Key Features & Technical Highlights
-
Motorised Kinetic Force Generation: Utilising high-torque eccentric or unbalanced motors, the platform delivers violent, highly repeatable multi-axis shock profiles that perfectly simulate accidental drops and rigorous handling.
-
Spring-Isolated, Guided Platter: The main testing bed is mounted on heavy-duty industrial compression springs and precision-ground guide shafts, focusing all kinetic energy upward into the test area while dampening forces transmitted to the factory floor.
-
High-Visibility Mesh Containment Enclosure: Features a robust, protective steel wire-mesh cage that safely confines loose devices or enclosed modules during high-G tumbling cycles, allowing operators to safely monitor physical failures in real time.
-
Rapid Fatigue Acceleration: Dramatically cuts down qualification cycles by packing hundreds of mechanical drop and vibration impacts into a highly compressed, automated testing window.
-
Destructive & Non-Destructive Flexibility: Ideal for free-tumbling destructive evaluations to find ultimate breaking points, or adapted for secured component stress screening across early-stage prototypes.
Applications
This accelerated life testing system is essential for validating consumer handheld devices (such as remote controls, smartphones, and scanners), ruggedised industrial field equipment, automotive key fobs, defence-grade sub-assemblies, and medical hardware that must survive continuous, unforgiving handling.
